Digital Himachal:

Digital Himachal is a Geographic Information System (GIS) that I have designed to bring together an enormous range of materials through the medium of maps. Using maps developed by myself, Kaiser data, and other sources, I have linked photographs, census data, digital video, audio files and other digital data to precise geographic locations.

The result allows users to visualize geographic data on literacy or religion while watching video. It will also allow users to perform sophisticated geographic queries, such as finding the prevalence of ritual sacrifice in areas of high literacy.

The project is still being completed. An exemplary example of a similar project can be seen at the Tibetan and Himalayan Digital Library.
